Stop Plaid Cymru's Childcare U-turn

Plaid Cymru was elected after making major promises to families across Wales, including expanded funded childcare for children. During the election campaign, they repeatedly promoted this and said action would happen quickly.

However Plaid Cymru has refused to provide the public with a clear delivery date or implementation. When questioned directly, the First Minister stated the rollout would happen “very quickly” but declined to confirm when families would actually receive support.

The Welsh Conservatives are on the side of our families and call on the Plaid Cymru Welsh Government to:

• Publish a full timetable for the childcare rollout within 30 days
• Confirm the exact start date for the first phase of delivery
• Provide annual targets for expansion across Wales
• Publish clear funding details for how the scheme will be delivered
• Commit to regular public progress updates to the Senedd and Welsh public
